City of Levallois
Our work

City of Levallois
On the doorstep of Paris, Levallois-Perret is tied to the story of Gustave Eiffel: it was in his Levallois workshops that the engineer had many of his metal structures built. The city pays tribute to him with its media library, the Médiathèque Gustave-Eiffel on rue Jean-Jaurès, which houses an auditorium.
For almost a year, under Patrick Balkany, then mayor of Levallois, we produced many videos for the city. Among them was Cin’Eiffel, the name given to the film club of the Médiathèque Gustave-Eiffel. Building on the success of its first season, it offered an ambitious programme for 2012-2013: four cycles of four films on Thursday evenings, introduced by film specialists, from great classics to Palme d’Or winners. Cin’Eiffel also reaches out to 13-16 year-olds with “Cin’Eiffel ados” and to younger children with “Cin’Eiffel Contes”.
Season trailer
To promote the programme beyond its regular audience, the City of Levallois commissioned us to create a ninety-second animated trailer for its digital channels.
We designed it like a film title sequence: dozens of posters and film stills swirl through space, gather into a glowing sphere, then each screening stands out on screen with its title, date and time, from The Virgin Suicides to Eternity and a Day, by way of Elephant, The Fly or 12 Angry Men for the teen screenings. The video ends with the Cin’Eiffel logo and the auditorium’s practical details.
- 3D motion design in After Effects, built from each film’s posters and stills.
- Brand compliance with the city’s and the library’s guidelines: logos, typefaces and colours.
- Sound design and export for web and screens.
Many more videos for the city
The Cin’Eiffel trailer is just one example. For almost a year, we filmed and edited reports and films on city life for Levallois town hall: shows and cultural events, such as La Femme du boulanger with Michel Galabru, the citizenship ceremony, the French Cooking Federation competition, pupils’ mini-companies, the farm village, the Night of Water, the Football Festival, sporting events and the 13 July 2013 fireworks.
